Buttermere Tree

Buttermere Tree - Landscapes

The lone birch tree on Buttermere. Possibly the most photographed tree in the Lake District. Helen was less than impressed with it, pointing out that a bit had fallen off it (which is true, the branch on the left used to be bigger), and wouldn't listen to my assertions that this tree is an iconic shot on photographers bucket lists. To be fair, she has a point. Because this tree is so often photographed, I went for something that's hopefully a little different - a long exposure to enhance movement of clouds and grasses using a 10 stop neutral density filter, one frame, two exposures, blended in Photoshop.
